Cast Your Movie

Who would you have play the major roles if your book was made into a movie? Explain your reasoning for each choice.

For example I would have Tom Welling (played Clark Kent in Smallville) play Darry from the outsiders because he is about the right age and appears strong enough to be a roofer and a tough greaser.

I would have chosen John Smith from the movie I am number 4 to play Soda for a couple of reasons. First of all, John Smith had a lot trouble with his school work and tended to fail almost all of his classes which relates to Sodapop because he dropped out of school because he thought he was dumb. Secondly, John had other special talents like He was very robust and excellent at running. Sodapop was excellent with cars in fact he worked in a small station with his friend. Lastly, John and Sodapop are both orphans.

I learned a lot of things this year in language arts. One thing I learned was that I like a lot of different genres. Coming into this year, I like two or three genres. Now, I like four or five. Before this year, I didn't like fantasy at all. The most recent book I read this, The Lightning Thief, was high fantasy and it was one of my favorite books. I have a much wider range of genres I like now. Another thing I learned this year is that quizlet is a great study tool. I used quizlet a little bit last year, but I didn't find out about all the cool things you can do on that site. Now, I have an account and use it to study vocab quite often. It is great because you can do a variety of things on that site, like take practice tests, play games and make your own vocabulary sets. Quizlet helped me learn a lot of vocabulary words this year. One more thing I learned this year is that language arts is a lot more than just reading and writing. You learn vocabulary words, act out skits, watch movies to make connections to the book you are reading and so much more. Language Arts has so much to offer, and that is why I like it so much.

Since The Lightning Thief has already been made into a movie, I would keep the cast as they are. They seem to fit their roles, and the movie was good. I probably would have done the movie when they were a little younger, though, because the people playing them seem older than they were in the book. For example, Percy is only twelve in the book, but he looks quite a bit older in the movie. Other than that, I wouldn't change the cast.

If I had to cast roles for Lightning Thief, I would give the role of Percy to Daniel Radcliffe (If he wasn't already in the Harry Potter movies). He is young enough to be Percy, and he has experience in fantasy acting. He is a great actor and I think he would make a great Percy. I would give the role of Annabeth to Miley Cyrus. She is young and she has a lot of acting expirience. Also, she has some of the same character traits as Annabeth in the book.

If the boggart was made into a movie i would be Emily. I would be Emily because she is close to my age and shes a girl. I wouldn't want to be Jessup or Tommy or the Boggart because those are all boys and in a movie they wouldn't have girl play a boy part or a boy play a girl part, well not in MOST of the movies.

For The Boggart here are the people I would have play the important roles. For Mr.Volnick I would have Bradley Cooper play him because he's pretty cool, but he can play someone angry, too. For Dr.Stigmore, I would have him played by Zach Galifianakis because he has the beard going and he can keep a straight face, and ina lot of movies he's the crazy guy, so that would be good for Stigmore. For Ms.Volnick I would have Tina Fey because she's funny and she looks how I picture Ms.Volnick looking. For Jessup I would have Freddie Highmore because he has played young kids in a lot of fantasy movies, and this would be good for him. For Emily, I would have Dakota Fanning because even though she's a little older she has her looks, and is a good actor. For Tommy, I would have Jaden Smith because he's an action guy, and funny which is like Tommy's personality. Lastly, I would have Will Ferrell because he's a jokester but means no harm with his pranks. That would be the cast for The Boggart.

If I were to cast my book into a movie I would have Doby From Harry potter as The Boggart. I would have The John Kid From Stuart Little as Jessup And Kirsten Dunst As Emily.
