Why Blog?
1. This blog will allow students from different class periods to discuss great literature when they would not have been able to otherwise.
2. Anyone who blogs will recieve participation credit as well as class points.
3. You can blog at home or at school. You can blog with a frog, you can blog on a log, just don't hog the blog.
4. Discussing literature with others helps us make personal meaning.
5. 9 out of 10 dentists agree that blogging helps fight tooth decay.... Ok, I made that up, but brushing twice a day does.

I think they built the City of Ember because, of the darkness around it. Maybe they panicked and built a new and improved city. I think they built it because it is taken place in the futre, so maybe it is futureistic, and might be something we could do in the future?
I think they built the city of ember because they were in danger. There could have been a war or something where they could have gotten killed so a group of people dug under ground and built a place to hide. I also think they could have found the city or something and decided to live in it. Or maybe in there is no world above them maybe it got destroyed and they were forced to live under ground.
I think they built the City of Ember because of a war above.maybe they wanted to keep the people safe for 200 years. by then the war would be over and it would be safe.so thats why they built it.
I think they built the city of ember because the people above ground were fighting in a war.They also could have built it because they thought it would be safer to live their instead of out in the open.Thirdly they could have built it because they thought they would need it in the future.Lastly they could have built it to keep the population growing instead of dieing because they would die in a war.
