Can you think of a story (other than one we have read in class) that follows the steps of a Hero's Journey? Name the story and tell us at least five of the steps that the hero follows and what he does in each of the steps. (This will take a minimum of 6 sentences).

One story I can think of that shows the steps of a hero's journey is "The Lightning Thief" The First step Percy takes is Unusual Birth Where he has no idea who his dad is. The next step is, Call to Adventure when Percy goes on the field trip with school and the monster attacks him and his teacher throws him a sword. Another step is, Supernatural helper, Percy's supernatural helper was his Latin teacher who was actually a centaur. Another step he takes is talisman or special weapon and his talisman is riptide, the pen that when uncapped turns in to a sword. The next step he takes is crossing the threshold, when Percy leaves New York and goes to half blood hill. Percy's trials were collecting the three magic water orbs that can transport him out of the underworld. Percy's achievement of goal was when he recovered the lightning bolt from Luke and cleared his name. Percy reconciled with a father figure by finally meeting his dad and telling him how he felt. Finally, Percy returned home to New York and sadly went back to his normal school life, but, luckily he will be able to go back to half blood hill when summer comes.
Crispin had the Hero's journey.Crispin had and unusual childhood because he had no father. He was "called to adventure" when his mom died, and he had to escape Aycliffe. He met Bear for his mentor, and that is a step. He overcame many challenges by escaping John Aycliffe, and helping kill him in the end. He met up with a father figure kind of when he fnds out his father is Lord Furnival. That is how Crispin relates to A Hero's Journey.
The story i picked is Hercules. One step that goes along with Hercules is unusual birth. He is born then he is turned mortal by Hades and must live with mortal people instead of with his dad Zeus and the other gods. Crossing The Threshold. Hercules must leave his mortal parents which he thinks is his actual parents, and go on to become a hero and become a god again. Talisman or special weapon. Hercules goes to the temple of Zeus and he meets is real Dad for the first time. Hercules is also given Pegasus. Pegasus is a flying horse that helps Hercules complete his trials. Trials. Hercules goes through many monsters that Hades throws at him before he is known very well and becomes famous. Achievement Of Goal. Hercules completes all the trials then finally becomes a god by risking is life to save one of his friends. Then Hercules goes and saves Zeus from the titans that Hades sent on him and Hercules ends up saving all the gods and sending the titans away.
A story that i think relates to the Hero's Journey is Hercules. First of all one of the steps that shows in Hercules is Unusual Birth. Hercules was born on Mt. Olympus which is quite unusual and when he was young the hench men of Hades came and tryed to make him mortal. And then another step that comes after that is the Call to adventure. Hercules call to adventure was when his adopted parents that where humans told hercules that he wasn't there son. So that caused Hercules to go out and find his parents. And also, another step would be the achievement of goal. When Hercules finally proves that he is a hero

When he finally returns home and when summer time comes around he can go back to half blood hill.
One story is "The Revenge of the Witch" The First step unusal birth Tom is a seventh son of a seventh son.The Second step is call to adventure- When Tom goes off to be the Spook apperntice. The third step is helper- Tom's helper is the Spook because he teaches Tom how to be a good spook. The fourth step is talisman or special weapon- Tom's special weapon is the Spooks staff. The fifth step crossing the threshold- Tom cross the threshold is when he became the Spook's apprentice.
